Omer Faruk GOKER
Ömer Faruk Göker completed his undergraduate education in 2011 at the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Trakya University. He received his master’s degree in Archaeology from the Institute of Social Sciences at the same university in 2015.
Through his academic education and participation in archaeological excavations, he has gained knowledge and practical experience in excavation techniques and conservation, architectural drawing, small finds drawing, archaeological photography, and architectural history. His primary academic interest is to specialize in ancient architecture and numismatics, and he completed his master’s thesis titled “Architectural Depictions on Roman Imperial Period Coins of Thrace.”
In terms of professional experience, he worked as an archaeologist in 2016 at Bige Construction Contracting Inc. within the scope of conservation-oriented zoning plans for the Gaziköy Urban Archaeological Site. He also participated as an archaeologist in the Palaiapolis (Beydağ-Ödemiş) excavation in 2010, and in the Tekirdağ Rock Tombs and Filyos Ancient City excavations in 2009. In 2007, he worked in the tourism sector as a sales coordination officer.
He has also received language training in English and Greek. He attended an English language program at Temple University (Philadelphia, USA) in 2013, a Greek language program at Ioannina University (Greece) in 2011, and an English language course at Bank
